Labina Mitevska gives a highly praised performance as 30-year-old Senada, whose life has been incomplete since her daughter's disappearance ten years ago. Haunted by her experiences in an interment camp during the Bosnian conflict, Senada's life in Brcko near Sarajevo is far from peaceful. After learning of a bus that transported children from the war torn region of Bosnia to Germany at the time her daughter Aida went missing, Senada pursues the lead without hesitation. In Germany, she locates her daughter who has been living with her German adoptive parents since infancy. Senada is devastated to find that documents were signed ten years ago that relinquished legal guardianship. She fights to override the ruling but the law is unable to reconcile matters of the heart. Warchild challenges the viewer with a lasting moral dilemma. Should the child be taken back to Sarajevo with her biological mother or stay in Germany with her adoptive parents?
